He received his Doctorate in optometry from New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Ashfaq is a unique combination of ophthalmology and optometry. His past work treads a dynamic record such as being a master trainer of communicable eye disease trachoma with the World Health Organization. Dr. Ashfaq received his medical degree from Nishtar Medical College in Multan, Pakistan and completed his residency in ophthalmology for one year. The following year he attended a post-graduate training course in ophthalmology for one year. He worked as Resident Medical Officer in ophthalmology for three years and completed his training in cornea and anterior segment from Punjab Medical College Faisalabad. He graduated as an MCPS (Member of the college of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan) in ophthalmology. He worked as an ophthalmologist in world class health care institutions such as the ​Sultan Qaboos Hospital in Oman and other international locations for fifteen years. He continues to extend eye care services to free eye camps in Pakistan and volunteers his time to related community managed health care centers. Dr. Ashfaq offers his service for eyecare in Dale City, Manassas, Lake Ridge and Woodbridge. His practice is equipped with the latest state of the art technology to properly evaluate various eye diseases. Dr. Ashfaq loves to read and attend both national and international ophthalmology and optometric conferences. He plays basketball and table tennis and enjoys cook outs. Dr. Ashfaq lives with his two children and a lovely wife.
